John J. Dorris, III Loving Father, Husband, Son, Uncle, and Friend John J. Dorris III, beloved father, husband, son, uncle, and friend. John passed away after a courageous battle with colon cancer, leaving a void in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. John was a devoted father to his 18-year-old daughter, Sophia, and a loving husband to his wife, Ximena. His family was his pride and joy, and his love for them was limitless. His 5-year-old niece and goddaughter described him perfectly the night he left us: "Today, Uncle John became an angel." Born and raised in Delaware, John moved to Florida in the late 1990s, where he eventually met the love of his life, Ximena. They married in 2003 and built a beautiful life together. John was a caring son to his parents, Georgene and John, and a loving brother to his sister, Denise. Our hearts are filled with love knowing he has now been reunited with his parents and sister in heaven. John had a passion for NASCAR racing, football, and playing poker. His love for these hobbies brought him closer to friends and family. A man of quiet strength and unshakable love, John's legacy will live on through his daughter, Sophia, and in the memories of all who were blessed to know him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Sophia's college fund, to help support her education and continue her father's legacy of love. Rest in peace, John. You were a truly remarkable man, and you will be deeply missed by all who knew you.
