John Thomas Bennett

John Thomas Bennett—J.B. to his friends and family—passed away peacefully with his family at his side on January 24, 2024. J.B. is survived by his wife, Greta; mother, Lily; sisters, Maryann, Diane, and Cheryl; nieces; nephews; brothers-in-law; and his little buddy affectionately called "Lucky." He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Bennett. J.B. was passionate about sports and athletics, having started work for the City of North Miami in their Parks and Recreation Department at a young age and continuing to work there over many years. During this time, he coached and mentored children of all ages, including his nephews. He was passionate about his beloved Indianapolis Colts and New York Yankees, never missing a game and traveling to see his teams live whenever he had the chance. He also loved fishing, cooking, gardening, and tending to the many tropical trees at his home. J.B. was deeply committed to his family and a dear friend to many throughout his life. We will all miss him so much.
