John R. Barry

John Robert Barry (self-proclaimed "old buzzard"), age 81, passed away January 23, 2017 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was born March 29, 1935 in Monmouth, Illinois to the late John J. & Helen E. Barry. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. Survivors include two sons, John Arthur (Joanne), of Royal Palm Beach, Mark (Kate Schilling), of Denver, CO and one daughter, Dalinda, of Wellington, FL; one sister, Evelyn; two grandchildren, Savannah and Matthew; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jack (Rebecca) Miller and Mrs. Richard (Elizabeth) Armstrong and numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rocelia (Rosie), his parents, and sister, Helen Rita; three brothers-in-law Jack Miller, Richard (Dick) Armstrong, Donald Damewood and one sister-in-law Shirlee Damewood. A visitation service will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach. Funeral will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in Royal Palm Beach, FL. Burial services will be held in Monmouth, Illinois at a later time. Memorials may be made to Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in Royal Palm Beach, St. Mary's Cemetery in Monmouth, IL or JDRF Diabetes Foundation.
