Joe "Sonny" Marropodi

Joe (Sonny) Marropodi was born November 17th in Brooklyn New York. On the evening of February 5, 2020, Sonny passed away at the age of 73. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, June Marropodi, his children Jill and Joseph (Keith) Marropodi, son in law Tezone Millwood, daughter in law Debby Marropodi, grandchildren Elijah & Xavier Millwood, Leah Davis, and Desiree Marropodi (for whom he lovingly enjoyed being referred to as "Poppo"); as well as a loving circle of family. Sonny proudly held a successful career at NY City Transit Authority for 20 + years. He loved spending time with family, being outdoors such as walks in the park, family beach days, pool parties, horse racing, etc. In his later days, nothing made Sonny happier than spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Sonny was a handsome, selfless man who brought joy and laughter to everyone he was surrounded by. There was never a time being in his presence where he didn't crack a joke and make you laugh. May you Rest in peace Sonny…you will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
