Joan C. Reese ~ Age 69 "I Can Do It ~ Joanie" Joanie allowed the angels to take her hand for eternal peace at home with her family by her side on November 8, 2010, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born, Joan Schramm on June 26, 1941 in New York City, N.Y. to Augusta and Valentine Schramm and became the little sister to Marilyn. She attended school in Queens where she graduated from Richmond Hill High School in 1960. Married on August 5, 1961 to Barry John Reese at Sacred Heart Church of Queens. After her marriage, they had two beautiful daughters, Kelly & Cindy. The family moved from Queens in 1970 to their first new home in Bayshore, New York, where Joanie was a stay at home mom who adored her family. Her greatest accomplishments, favorite interest and best enjoyment in life were her children and eventually grandchildren. The family moved to Pembroke Pines, Florida in 1979 and Joanie worked for Publix Supermarkets, which later would become a 23 year career in the bakery. She lost her loving husband of 21 years ~ Barry, to lung cancer at the young age of 42. She met her new sweetheart, Thomas Devoursney in 1984 and he has been by her side as friend, sweetheart and caregiver for the last 24 years. Joanie is survived by her daughters, Kelly Taylor and Cindy Fee. Her sweetheart, Thomas Devoursney. Granddaughters, Jennifer Flasher, Amanda Fisher, Courtney Fee, Tiffany Taylor and Shannon Fee. Sister, Marilyn Reese and Sister in law, Donna Meehan. Joanie is also survived by many loving friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She is predeceased by her loving husband ~Barry Reese & her beloved parents, Valentine and Augusta Schramm. Her companion and furry friend "April" who's life brought her happiness.
