Joan G Canova

Joan Garramone Canova of Royal Palm Beach, FL and Lakeville, PA, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 on her 92nd birthday. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, George J Canova. Born in New York, NY, to the late Robert and Ethel MacBean Garramone, she was a 1951 Graduate of St. Peters High School in Staten Island and then attended Pratt School for Business in New York City. After working at Western Electric her main focus was raising her family and then assisting her husband, George, in the family business of running Sandy Shore Development in Lakeville. She was involved in the community through the PTA, Red Hat Society and Wayne Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, where she logged many hours in the thrift shop. She was a longtime member of the Lakeville Community Church. She enjoyed spending summers at Lake Wallenpaupack, especially Sandy Shore with her many friends and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is also survived by daughter Debra Skinner and husband Robert, Royal Palm Beach with whom she resided; Son, George Canova and wife Michelle, Hagerstown, MD; Grandchildren Rebecca, George and Allison Canova; Brother, Robert Garramone and wife Patricia; Sister-in-law Amelia Grosso and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Lakeville, PA.
