Jimmie Roy Higgins

Jimmie "Jim" Roy Higgins went home to Jesus on November 18, 2021 at age 86. Jim was born to Henry Roy Higgins (who went by "Roy H.") and Loville Marie Higgins on June 10, 1935 in Centralia, Illinois. In 1951, Roy and Loville moved their family south to Lake Worth, Florida where Jim would later meet his wife, Elsie Bertha Sterns. In 1954, Jim and Elsie were set up on a blind date and a month later they were married - on December 22 at Greenacres Baptist Church. Jim and Elsie went on to have four children, Cynthia, Pamela, Jimmie Jr., and Sheila. In an effort to better provide for their family, Jim and Elsie started their own business, Palm Beach Iron Works, Inc., on May 14, 1973. This business was Jim's passion and outlet for giving for the rest of his life. Jim held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him at every opportunity. He was an active participant in his church, Berean Baptist Church, which later became known as Grace Fellowship Church, and most of the members knew of his big hugs and willingness to pray for anyone in need. Jim joins his parents, Roy and Loville, and his brothers, Jackie "Jack" and Donald, in Heaven. He is survived by his wife, Elsie, brother Jerry, brother Lee and children, Cynthia (David), Pamela, Jimmie Jr, and Sheila (William), grandchildren, Eric (Karey), Valerie (Stanton), Jimmie III (Krystle), Kyle, Luke, Stewart, Colin, Spencer, Wesley, Tara, and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Charlotte, Raelynn, Olivia, Gabriella, and Jimmie IV.
