Jethro Pierre Obituary January 23, 1997 – March 9, 2018 Jethro Roosevelt Pierre of Wellington, Florida Born January 23, 1997 went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2018 at 8:14 a.m. at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Although Jethro won his battle over Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, he died of an irreversible inflammatory lung condition called, bronchioles Obliterans, that affects the lung's tiniest airways. Jethro fought a great fight; so, we can proclaim, "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" Jethro's love of people for who they are helped us see the silver lining during this difficult time. He urged all to look at different perspectives in life. At times when we, his family and friends, wouldn't get it, he would assert himself attempting to show us that everything was possible because he beat cancer. Jethro's short 21 years of life was filled of impactful moments. He played travel soccer for Wellington Wave and varsity soccer at Palm Beach Central High. His stellar sportsmanship led him to play for the state of Florida Olympic Development Program. Jethro had an entrepreneurial spirit and wished to obtain a business degree. It was evident through various business ventures and his pursuit of knowledge. Jethro was tenacious about making a difference. His sense of humor made him a favorite. He helped his friends be more inclusive. He started the process of publishing his journal "But Seriously…where did the time go" in which he documented every step of his journey through cancer and complications after. He volunteered to feed the homeless, and soon began to develop his hidden gifts of music and writing. Jethro depicts his life through his songs entitled, I'll be free, Medication, Eat, Pray and Grind among others. He wanted his story to be a comfort for those who are battling any diseases especially cancer. Jethro is survived by his parents Roosevelt and Marie Pierre. His sisters Nephtalie and Carmie Pierre. His grandmother Anne Pierre; His aunts and uncles: Llyonel and Naomie Mercius, Gerard Meus and family; Manes Blanc, Jocelyne Mercius; Voltaire Estimable; Angeline Saintphard, Marie Pierre; Sergot and Lucie Jean-Jacques, Julio and Grace Success, Michelle Corieorolant and family, Claritha Pierre; His cousins: Rushama, Madoshe, Misha, Jemima Mercius; Hermeline, Moline and Jephte Blanc; Yvelor, Jacques and Loudi Sully, Angela Saintphard, Sarah Paul; Isaac Jean-Jacques; Ruben, Gesty, Welger and Wood Mercius; Manouscha, Kathy and Shapounah Mercius; Sadrack Mentor and Sabrina Bienaime; Philo and Wiggins success; Thompson and Rose Cesar; Regis and Uldah Success; Sadrack Mentor and Sabrina Bienaime and many more extended family as well as a multitude of friends and schoolmates. Friends and family can remember Jethro at his wake service on Friday, March 16 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Palm West Funeral Home located at 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. Followed by a Celebration of life service on Saturday, March 17 at 9:30 a.m. with a viewing at 9 a.m. at St. Peter's United Methodist Church 12200 West Forest Hill Blvd. Wellington, FL 33414. Jethro will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Peace located at 10941 Southern Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. The service will be officiated by Jethro's uncle Pastor Jean Mercius. A tribute gift can be made in loving memory of Jethro Pierre in lieu of flowers to Pediatric Oncology Support Group (Post) at http://postfl.org/donate/ which provides supports to local children and their families who are faced with cancer in South Florida.
