"No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave." -Calvin Coolidge There are some people in this world who are always giving. Jeffrey Alan Smith was a man of true honor, a man who was always willing to give. His endless generosity made him what his wife, Renee calls, "a man among men." This man among men touched the lives of everyone he encountered, making his benevolent heart, unforgettable. Jeff was born March 8th, 1947. He served in the United States Army 3rd battalion of the 39th Infantry division in Vietnam. Following his tours, he received a Purple Heart in October of 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1969. Jeff loved to play golf, but not more than he loved his family. He loved to fish with his son & grandson even if he didn't catch anything. He also enjoyed coaching & playing softball. In the last 15 years, Jeff spent his time giving. He mentored, sponsored & helped many men find their way to recovery. One of the things he was most known for was his positive attitude towards those who may have lost their way. He would always say, "Welcome home. We don't shoot our wounded." On September 14th, 2018, Jeffrey Alan Smith left this world a better place than when he arrived. His legacy lives through all those he touched with his loving heart. Jeff is survived by his Wife Renee, Daughter Dawn, Son Jarrod, Daughter Kim, Daughter In Law Elaine, Grandchildren Alexis, Samantha, Jake, Kayla, Erica and Nicole and Great Grand Child Julian, and a host of loving friends. Rest in peace, lowrider.
