Jeannette Trescott Gorman Halahan Age 89 of Wellington, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2007 after a brief illness, at home with her family. Jeannette was born in Brooklyn New York on October 4, 1917. She graduated from Hunter College, New York City in 1939. During her college years she was president of her sorority Alpha Delta Pi and remained an active member of the Palm Beach chapter for many years. After college she worked for American Airlines, until she married John Halahan on June 7, 1942. She and John moved to Brookville, Long Island, New York a few years later and raised their three daughters. During this time she taught in the Jericho school district and had an active social life, particularly with her beloved ?Bridge Group?. In 1982, she and her husband retired to Florida to join their daughters. She is lovingly survived by John, her husband of 65 years, and her daughters and their husbands: Joan and Denis Murphy of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Patricia and Jay Froehlich of Wellington, Florida (with whom they lived); Deborah and Michael Conlon of Gainesville, Florida. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Tracy Trescott Murphy of Tallahassee, Florida, Kevin M. Murphy of Baltimore, Maryland, John Froehlich of Wellington, Florida, Jennifer Conlon, Megan Conlon, and Eric Conlon from Gainesville, Florida. She has one great grandchild, Mira Jeannette Arnold. A visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 from 6-9P.M. with a wake service at 7:30P.M. at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007 at 10:30A.M. at St. Rita Catholic Church, Wellington, Fl. PALMS WEST FUNERAL HOME ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL. (753-6004)
