Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother Jean Siliato passed into Heaven on the morning of November 20,2014 surrounded by our loving family. Forever our Matriarch she will be deeply missed but her memory and legacy will live forever in our hearts and minds. She was born in New York City in 1923 one of four sisters of a close knit Italian family. She worked as a young woman in her father's dress factory honing her skills as a expert in garment making. A beautiful young woman with a spirit for life to match she captured the eye of many suitors but only one would prevail, her husband Paul who she would spend 72 years building beautiful memories and pass on so many of our traditions. After a romantic Christmas marriage they started a family and she became a very active and loving parent to Jo-Anne and Paul. Sharing a wanderlust with her husband they would travel throughout the continental United States and through Europe many times. Passionate about singing and dancing you could always find her behind the piano or organ leading the vocals or teaching ballroom dance in the community center. Known to many as the "Social Mayor" of her Florida neighborhood there wasn't anyone she wouldn't talk to or give a helping hand. Her infectious smile, positive energy and never quit attitude was inspiring and magnetic to her family and friends. She spent countless hours crafting the art of old world Italian cooking that left the lucky diners at her many holiday and dinner parties anticipating their next invite. She will always be remembered as the quintessential dinner host and a master of marinara, meatballs and manicotti! A lifelong devotee to her Catholic Faith, she will leave behind to cherish her memory her loving husband Paul P. Siliato, her daughter Jo-Anne and her husband Gene Castro, her son Paul A. Siliato and his wife Lauren, her three grandchildren Andra Matera and husband Joe, Paul B. Siliato and wife Stephanie, and Debbie Semedo and husband Danny, great grandchildren Charles, Mia and Stefano, and sister Josephine Daversa, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, Florida 33411. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County or the American Heart Association.
