Janet Sue Hanson Hartman was born on December 8, 1956 in Fergus Falls, MN and passed away in Palm Beach County June 15, 2024, she was a young 67 years old. Although she lost her battle with Alzheimer's she was accepted into an experimental drug trial through Brain Matters Research in Delray Beach where she likely helped others delay the onset of this disease. She is survived by her Husband Gordon, their two children Wesley and Kristine and their six grandchildren Russell, Brooks, Graham, Norah, Ophelia, Ivy and Brothers Jim, Mike, and Doug. As a child she moved with her family to Charlottesville, VA where she attended elementary and middle school and believe this was the favorite city of her young life. Traveling back to Charlottesville in 2006 she was able to connect with the new owners of her childhood home and became long friends of Butch and Nancy Hutchins. Moving again with the family to Cherry Hill, NJ she graduated from Cherry Hill East High School where she met one of her best lifetime friends Linda Cary. Moving again to Boulder Colorado as an intelligent young adult she was promoted to the Store Manager of Hit & Miss Women's Clothing. At the 1979 St. Patrick's Party in West Denver she meet Gordon and were Married in March of 1982. Together their journey took them to Oak Harbor Washington where Gordon was stationed with the US Navy and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest where they raised their two children. Nearing the end of Gordon's Navy career they moved to Council Bluffs Iowa and a new beginning out of the military where Gordon worked for Union Pacific Railroad and Janet worked in a Real Estate company making many new friends, enjoying Iowa wines, and collecting antiques. Although we have visited Oak Harbor and Council Bluffs, Janet's dream was to stay in Florida where she could just say warm. Janet was known for being a very skilled and inventive seamstress making many beautiful quilts, Christmas and Easter quilted runners, quilted bunnies, snowmen and table runners, tree ornaments, and purses she made out of men's ties. Likely one of her greatest gifts in life was volunteering her time and efforts with Hospice Patients in the twilight of their lives. Amazingly, as a gift from those patients now looking down from heaven, they also provided Janet with the gift of a Hospice Volunteer Roshini Suresh who visited often and followed Janet nearly to her last breath along with Gordon, Wesley, and Kristine who were with her to the end. Most of all, she was a physically beautiful person, intelligent and so full of light and love that it still shines bright today warming the hearts and minds of all that knew her. We Were Born Again To Be Together, and believe we will once again share our spirits in another journey somewhere in the universe. Donations can be made to your local Alzheimer's Association in her name.
