James Richard Sharp

October 9, 1943 — September 29, 2018

James "Jim" Richard Sharp, age 74, of West Palm Beach, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Wellington Regional Hospital. He was born October 9, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of James and Maxine Sharp. On August 1, 1964, in Troy, Michigan, he was united in marriage to Sandra Sharp. Jim worked at Chevrolet Detroit Forge in his earlier years and later sold real estate for Sutherland Real Estate in Greenview, Missouri. Jim's grandchildren dubbed him "G-pops" because he was too cool to be called grandpa. After the death of his wife he left his long time home in Sunrise Beach, Missouri and made his way to his dream home in West Palm Beach, Florida to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. Jim had an uncanny way of appreciating life even when times would get tough. He stopped to smell the flowers and appreciate all the small things this world had to offer. His personality was larger than life and he lived everyday exactly on his terms. He loved working on his house, swimming in his pool, fast cars and coconut shrimp. He made the best desserts you have ever had. He always had a million ideas and projects going at the same time. He color coordinated his shoes to match his shirts and he was so proud of his sketchers collection. He loved movies and tv shows where people would sing. He loved funny memes and News Boy caps. He looked forward to cruises and trips to Las Vegas. He would give you the shirt off his back and was always there to lend a helping hand. He didn't care what anyone thought about him and he taught his grandchildren it's ok to think differently, to be your own person. It will be hard to fill the gap he has left in all our hearts. But the impact he has had on all our lives will allow us to carry on his memory and legacy until we can meet again. Jim is survived by two sons, Ryan Sharp of Cross Timbers, Missouri and Mark Sharp of Henderson, Nevada; one daughter, Julie Kaboudan of Royal Palm Beach, Florida; six grandchildren, Kayleigh Kaboudan, Amara Kaboudan, Adam Kaboudan, Maxwell Sharp, Layne Sharp, Lucia Alessandra Sharp and many other relatives and friends. A familial memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army.
