James C Lickas, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2023, in Wellington Florida, at the age of 91. James was born on May 26, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to his loving parents, Elizabeth and Demetrius Lickas. His siblings were his responsibility as his parents passed away young, but he raised and supported them with all of his heart. James was a proud veteran of his Country, having served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After returning from Service, he married the love of his life, Marilyn with whom he shared 64 years of marriage before she passed away on July 3, 2018. James was survived by his loving sister Georgeann Mitchell, his two daughters, Diane Rauso and Carol Barin, who loved him dearly. He was a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren, Kristan, Ashley, Emily, Taylor, and Brett, and to his great-grandchildren, Caden, Canyon, Ford, Nova, Decker and Elo, who brought joy to his life. James loved the ocean and the beach. He enjoyed his favorite food, bacon, and sweets, which brought a smile to his face. James was also passionately creative, expressed through wood work and drawing. Known as being a man of few words, James never ceased to express his love through his actions. James C Lickas will always be remembered as a hardworking man, a loving father, and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. His family and friends will miss him dearly, and his memory will always remain in their hearts. While it feels like we never got enough time with you here on Earth, we know you are happy to finally be reunited with Marilyn in Heaven. Rest In Peace. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Jim's name to either St Jude's or Wounded Warriors.
