James G. Hicks

James Grant Hicks (85) went to be with our Lord on June 3, 2009. He was married 62 years to Dorothy Hicks, with two children. He served in the 8th Air Force in England in the US Army Air Corp in WWII as a waist gunner in a B24, was shot down over Germany 12/22/43 and held prisoner of war in Stalag 17B until liberation 5/45. He worked as a USDOL Wage Hour Compliance Officer for over 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents, his brother AI Hicks and sister Alfarata McDonald and a grandson James Grant Souto. He leaves behind his children, Steven Hicks and Susan Souto (husband Salvador III), and grandsons Daniel Souto and Salvador Souto IV (wife Jeri) with great grandchildren Elise and Evan. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Haverhill Baptist Church. Contributions to Hospice in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
