James Edward "Jim" Hall, Sr. was born in 1933 in Philadelphia, PA. His parents were James and Bella Hall. Jim's father, James, immigrated to the US in 1926 from Cavan County, Ireland and later met his wife, Bella, in the Salvation Army. Young Jim often played the coronet in the Salvation Army band. Jim and sister Emily grew up in Wyomissing, PA where he met the love of his life, Evelyn James. They were married in 1955 after both graduated from Albright College. Jim earned a BS in Economics and began his career at IBM in Richmond, VA. Jim and Evelyn had two daughters, Liz and Shelly, born in Richmond. He later moved to Poughkeepsie, NY and then took a position in Tokyo, Japan. Jim and family returned after a year to Sinking Springs, PA. Jim pursued a career in computer technology with moves to Syracuse and then Vestal, New York, where his son, Ted, was born. In 1968, he moved back to PA where he began his focus on computer systems for hospitals with Shared Medical Systems. He maintained this focus for the rest of his career, with executive roles with SMS and Eclipsys. Jim and Evelyn finally left the snowy winters of PA and headed to Delray Beach, FL and finally Lake Worth, FL. Jim enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, boating, fishing, and spending time with family – especially his grandchildren. Jim died peacefully on August 12, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; sister, Emily; three children - Liz, Shelly (Pete), Ted (Michelle), 7 grandchildren – Lauren, Lindsay, Colleen (Joe), James, David, Meaghan (Rico), and Graceanne; and two great-grandchildren – Skylar and Rein. He fought a hard fight, and was telling stories and jokes up to the end.
