James Joseph Doogue

April 8, 1953 — April 11, 2025

James Joseph Doogue, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on April 11, 2025, just three days after celebrating his 72nd birthday. Born on April 8, 1953, to William Joseph Doogue and Margaret Ann Liedl Doogue, James lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family. James—known affectionately as Jim to many—was the love of Susan's life, the proud father of Brian, Katie, and Chrissy, and a devoted grandfather to his eight grandchildren, each of whom brought him endless joy and pride. Loving brother of Joe and Margaret Doogue. He was our biggest cheerleader in every sense of the word. Whether it was a youth soccer or hockey game, a school milestone, or just life's everyday hurdles, you could always hear him cheering from the sidelines. His voice—and his spirit—carried. Family was everything to Jim. From memorable trips to Tennessee and Orlando, to Sundays spent together at church followed by lunch, he made sure we were not only present, but connected. He had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into lifelong memories. He taught us the value of hard work, often without saying a word—just by living it. Whether it was mowing the lawn, putting up Christmas lights, or boarding up the house for a hurricane, he always had us by his side, quietly passing down lessons we'd only come to understand years later. He was, in every way, accident-prone—and we never let him live it down. But he gave it right back, always with a head nod and a laugh. His sense of humor, his easygoing nature, and his ability to brush off what didn't matter were just a few of the things that made him so special. Jim had a heart of gold. He found the best in people, always ready to lend a hand or an encouraging word. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, never once letting life's challenges shake his commitment to those he loved. His signature whistle to the oldies while driving was the soundtrack of so many family memories—small moments that now mean everything. He passed far too soon, but his legacy lives on in the people he raised, the lives he touched, and the love he gave so freely. His lessons, laughter, and love will carry on for generations. We love you, Dad. We'll keep listening for that whistle.
