James Joseph Burke

James Joseph Burke, Jr., 66, of West Palm Beach, FL. passes away on Saturday, May 24, 2008. Born in Evergreen Park, IL., he was the oldest of 5 children of James & Helen (Figura) Burke Sr. After high school, James enlisted in the Marine Corps., where he served 4 years. Later he went on to attend Northern Illinois University, where he played football. In 1969 he moved to WPB, where he worked many years & retired from Eastern Airlines. James enjoyed horseback riding & playing baseball, but mostly took pride in coaching his sons and grandsons in the sports he loved. Dad never turned anyone down for help and was always willing to extend a loving hand. His memory will be cherished by his children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews & many many friends. A visitation will be held at Palms West Funeral Home from 4?6 PM on Saturday, May 31, with a service starting at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in James?s name to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486 or to the Veterans Hospital at West Palm Beach V A, Attn. Voluntary Services, 7305 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410. James was loved & respected by all that knew him. He will be deeply missed!
