Jacqueline Marie Mack On October 12, 2020, Jacqueline "Jackie" Mack passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side. Jackie endured a decades-long struggle with Alzheimer's disease yet was fortunate to remain in her own home, well cared for by family and devoted home health aides. Jackie was born in Montreal, Canada in 1933 to Lillian and Bruno Masson. She was raised in a brownstone in Bedford-Stuyvesant, NY along with her older siblings Jeannine and Edward. Sadly, her father Bruno died suddenly in 1944. Her mother later married Paul Vidal who loved and cared for the family bringing much joy and laughter. In 1955, on a girl's weekend at The Sagamore in Pennsylvania, she met Jay L Mack, a dance instructor, who was working as the social director for the resort. A romance ensued and they married in May of 1956. Together they raised three children, Jay, Suzette and Paul and spent their first 40 years together living and working in the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. As to plan, they moved to West Palm Beach Florida to enjoy their retirement in the sun and to be closer to family. Jackie enjoyed a successful career in the insurance field beginning when she was just sixteen years old at the Jeff Shor Agency in New York City. Over the course of her career, she carved a clear path for women using her diligent work ethic and indefatigable integrity. At a time when most were stuck in the secretarial pool, Jackie rose through the ranks to executive positions, eventually making partner at The Rhulen Agency in Monticello, N.Y. Jackie loved her work and the people with whom she worked. She always said it was important to respect the people who worked for you as much as, if not more than, the people you worked for. As a result, she was cherished by those in the field and enjoyed great loyalty and support from employees. Jackie had tremendous personal strength. She experienced difficult losses in her life, the first being of her father when she was only eleven years old, the next, the tragic loss of her sister Jeannine who was only in her 40's, followed by her stepfather Paul just weeks later. She also walked through her own mother's suffering with, and eventual succumbing to Alzheimer's disease. This depth of loss was counterbalanced by the great happiness she gleaned from her family life. Her children, nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (and cats) were the light of her life and everyone knew it. She was incredibly generous with her time and love and was a fierce defender of her family. Those who knew her will remember her with a beautiful smile and a bright spirit and the few who witnessed her tears should count it a great privilege as she was very private with those emotions. Jackie was predeceased by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her loving husband Jay, her children, Jay E. Mack and his wife Irene, Suzette Le Parc and her wife Trish, Paul Mack and his wife Patty, her grandchildren Tiffany (Mack) Hafler and her husband Josh, Alexandra Mack, MIchael Le Parc, Robbie Le Parc, Nicole Mack, Hunter Mack and Alexa Mack, and her great-grandchildren Elicia, Aven, Annabelle and Lillian Hafler and Jay Jay Le Parc. She also leaves behind six nieces and eight nephews and their children who were held close to her heart. Due to the Covid Pandemic, no public memorial will be held.
