Jacobus (Ko) Hermans, 89, of Arnhem the Netherland passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at home in West Palm Beach, FL surrounded by his family. Ko was born on July 7, 1934 in Arnhem the Netherlands. He was the son of the late W.H.A Hermans and G.M. Hermans-Barenbrug. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years Gerarda (Ger) Hermans-De Beijer and his children, Erica Hansen (Torben), Richard Hermans (Yudesqui), Astrid Page and Corinne Hermans. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Deidre, Danielle and Robyn Hansen; Alexander and Jared Hermans and Amos, Zoe, Marieke and Rowan Page. Ko founded his construction company, J. Hermans B.V, in 1962 and primarily worked on homes until his retirement in 1991. After retirement he continued to build, completing houses in West Beach, FL and Zimbabwe, Africa and renovating houses in Wellington, FL and Guilford, CT. He served his military duty proudly with the Koninklijke Marachausee (Military Police). He travelled extensively with his wife, Ger, around the United States and Europe in their camper and crossed the continental divide four times. They also spent some time travelling in Zimbabwe, Africa. He was an avid runner and completed five marathons and countless 5K and 10K races. He was a one-of-a-kind father who spent countless hours driving his children to motorcycle events and horse shows. Ko was a kind husband, father, grandfather brother and friend to many.
