Howard G. Suslow

Howard Suslow, born January 21,1928, passed peacefully on January 14, 2018 surrounded by loving family. Cherished and survived by his caring wife of 50 years, Judy (nee Blumenstein) sons Steve (Susan) and Ken (Linda), grandsons Brian, Josh, Hayden, Will. Howard graduated from NYU in 1948 and served in the U.S. Army in Germany after World War II. He also served on the board of Temple Israel in NYC and various trade organizations. His career in beauty and fragrance marketing started with Revlon. He subsequently spent several decades as Vice President of Fairchild Publications (WWD and W). His reputation in sales and knowledge of the industry built a dynasty for Fairchild. He and Judy took great pride in their sons' successful business careers. The athletic prowess of his four grandsons in their various sports gave him amazing pleasure. A Yankees winning streak got him excited, as did a great laugh. A casino win, a fun round of golf, a lucky poker game, all combined to drive his playfully competitive spirit. Howard's wit, his sense of humor and his unparalleled loyalty and friendship to those he loved will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Howard was preceded in death by his parents Esther and Lewis and his brother, Robert. A celebration of his life will be observed at home on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 1 to 5 pm.
