WALTER, Holly Young Holly Young Walter passed away peacefully in her Wellington, Florida, home on November 3, 2013, in the company of her husband and family and her precious Scottish Deerhounds, Hamish & Stewart. Born August 16, 1959, she grew up in Huntington, IN and moved to Stuart, FL in 1980. Holly's enduring and incredibly kind spirit will be cherished by her beloved husband, John Raymond Walter; step-daughter Emily Rose Walter of Gainesville; mother, Mrs. Jerry Gene (Averill) Young of Stuart; twin sister, Heather Young of Jensen Beach; and brother Jerry Todd (Nina and son Robert) Young of Ft. Wayne, IN. She was predeceased by her father, Jerry Gene Young. Holly was the very loved daughter-in-law of Joan and Harvey Walter of Wellington; sister-in law to Debby (Ken and daughter Brandy) Alexander of Dublin, OH; Donna (Randy and daughters Meagan (John) Rodriguez and Jordan) Kupper of Coral Gables; Diana (Ken) Kugler of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea; Harvey P. Walter, Jr., of Chicago; and Marysue (Jeff and children Victoria and Bryan) Bean, of Wellington; and leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends across the US. A graduate of Huntington North High School (1977), Huntington, IN, Vanderbilt University ('81 B.A. magna cum laude, History), Nashville, TN, and Washington & Lee University School of Law ('91 J.D.), Lexington, VA, Holly will be remembered as an accomplished attorney and counselor, a kind and trusted friend and consoler, and lover of nature and all of God's creatures and creations. Holly and her husband Ray enjoyed frequent trips to the Big Trees of Sequoia NP, California, where Holly accepted Ray's marriage proposal in 1999; and to Zion NP, Utah, where the couple celebrated their honeymoon in March 2000. Holly and Ray visited both of these beautiful places within the past few months. Throughout her six-month battle against a very aggressive cancer, Holly displayed strong courage and consistently maintained an amazingly positive and hopeful attitude and spirit, and was accepting and unafraid even when facing the sudden and unexpected end-stage to her condition. Holly remains an inspiration to all around her, and she accepted her fate with faith in God and knowing she was truly loved.
