May 12, 1926 — September 10, 2023

Hervin Seymour Young of Wellington Florida passed away on September 10, 2023. He was born in Clarendon Jamaica on May 12, 1926, the only child of Christine Swanson and Norman Young. Hervin went to trade school and became an exceptional welder. Later on, he joined the service and became a World War II veteran in the Royal Air Force in England. After leaving the service, he went on to start a transportation business in Jamaica. While in Kingston Jamaica one day, Hervin met his future wife Iris Lowe as she was on her way to choir practice. They were married on December 2nd, 1961, and their union eventually produced two sons and a daughter. During the 1960s, Hervin and his family moved to Freeport, Grand Bahama where he worked for Syntex Corporation as one of their best welders. He also started his second business as a building contractor. After several years of service, Hervin retired from Syntex and moved to the United States. He wasted no time finding work once again as an irrigation specialist at BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens Florida. In his spare time, Hervin enjoyed skeet shooting, weightlifting and tennis. He loved working in his yard, talking to his grandchildren, watching real estate programs and the warm South Florida weather. Hervin is survived by his wife, Iris; his 3 children Paul, Sharon and Mike; his 4 grandchildren Jordan, Michael, Alyssa and Iris. At 97 years old, Hervin lived a long, passionate, productive and loving life.
