Herbert James Martin

Herbert James Martin, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2023. He was born in Belle Glade, FL, in 1941 to Henry Jurden "Sonny" Martin and MaryLou Martin along with sister Bessie Carswell and predeceased brothers David Nall and Kenneth Ray Martin. He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Bette Alyll "Sandy" Martin. He was a loving father to his 2 daughters and son-in-laws: Roxanne and James Durand, and Jamie and Kenneth Dascher. He was an awesome grandfather to Caitlin & Sam Lastinger, Kyle & Cayla Ramos, Connor & Taylor Ramos, Heather Durand, Cooper & Spencer Gaffney and Nathan, Megan and Emily Dascher. He was a soon to be great-grandfather to Trent James Ramos currently on the way and due this month. He spent his retirement years enjoying time with his golfing buddies betting $1 at a time; and loved being an honorary father to Jay and Lori Congleton who helped him, through his last tough months, with the upmost love, care, and affection. He was a great provider and role model for generations to come. He will be greatly missed but will live in our hearts forever.
