Gloria T. Van Brocklin

In Loving Memory of Gloria Ann Tiff Van Brocklin Gloria, born April 1, 1937, in Lacona, New York and the second child born to Arlene and Olin Tiff, died April 30, 2024, in West Palm Beach Florida, of complications from a fall about 10 days previous. She donated her eyes to Florida Eye Bank for research and education. She had been a resident of the West Palm area for about 35 years as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Gloria grew up in Northern New York, attended and graduated from Belleville Union Academy in 1955. Through her elementary and secondary school years, she was active in several activities including chorus, sports, cheer leading and other sports. She attended Episcopal Churches in the area. She married Charles Van Brocklin, and they produced Michael and Kirk, who are now married with children. Their oldest son, Mark died in 1992. After graduation she attended Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York for nursing and ultimately graduated with a Nurse Practitioner Degree/master's degree. Her career brought her to Watertown, New York and finally to South Florida, via Haiti. She went to Haiti as a Missionary Nurse. Her ministry in Haiti was very fruitful. When she returned to the West Palm, Florida area in 1989, she continued her nursing with the Haitians in Belle Glade, until her retirement in 2005. In the meantime, she became Catholic and was very active as a sacristan at Sacred Heart Catholic Church until just days before her death. She is already missed at Sacred Heart by all. Gloria is survived by her two sons Michael (Mary Lou), Kirk (Tracy), 6 grandchildren: Corey (Lucas), Daniel (Kayla), Adam (Brook), Earin, Nicole and Heather Bouchard, 11 great-grandchildren, sister, Judy (Bob), brother, Richard (Sandy) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Requiem Mass will be said at Sacred Heart, May 6 at 10 AM followed by her burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery. Because of her ministry as a nurse and her devotion to Sacred Heart and her presence in the community, Gloria will be sorely missed.
