Gloria Rosson

October 14, 1926 — November 17, 2020

Gloria Rosson, Age 94, of Brooklyn, New York passed peacefully in her home on November 17, 2020 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jazz enthusiast, voracious reader, talented artist, and beloved grandmother. Gloria lived a positive and upbeat life- enjoying blessings daily in each moment that presented itself. Gloria could sing every word to any jazz song ever, leaving lasting memories of her trademark singalongs. Nothing lit up her days more than a visit or a phone call from her adoring granddaughters, Deanna Rosson and Heather Rosson Baker. Gloria was one of the first women on the New York Stock Exchange trading floor, leaving behind a legacy of independence and strength to all that knew her. After retiring from the banking industry and leaving the cold winters of New England behind, Gloria settled in West Palm Beach to be close to family. She loved visits and daily calls with her sister, Phyllis, to laugh about their days or spending countless evenings together reminiscing about the "good ol' days". She always loved learning something challenging and new, and not surprisingly, became an artist and belly dancer well into her retirement years. Her biggest piece of advice was to "always give yourself at least one good laugh a day". Preceded in death by her husband, Morton Rosson, sister and best friend, Phyllis Spenser and brother-in-law, Ralph Spenser, and parents, Charles and Lillian Cohen. Survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Jane Cohen, granddaughters, Heather Rosson Baker and Deanna Rosson, along with cousins, nephews, nieces, and close friends who will all miss her dearly. A celebration of life will be held outdoors by immediate family and friends in Palm Beach. A future memorial service will occur in one of Gloria's favorite places, Colonial Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Friends of the Palm Beach County Library in Gloria Rosson's name.
