Gloria Angela Ottley was born in Mt. Grace, Tobago to Eric Ottley and Adeline James on March 8th 1939. She migrated to Trinidad at age 15. She married Bertram Thomas in 1959 and that union led to the birth of her 2 beautiful daughters Cheryl and Sherlan. Gloria came to the USA in 1971 and worked for over 30 years as a health care worker at Astor Gardens Nursing Home in NY. Gloria was a union delegate, licensed real estate broker, and notary agent. She was a master seamstress who excelled in sewing clothes for large manufacturers in Trinidad. Gloria became a baptized witness in the late 90's in NY. She relocated to her beautiful home in Royal Palm beach in 2003 from NY and had no desire to leave since then. Gloria is survived by her darling daughters Dr. Cheryl Thomas-Harcum (Juan Harcum) and Dr. Sherlan Thomas ; Her loving grandson Rashaad Harcum, Jermaine Harcum and Grandaughter Omeika Harcum. Brothers, Gordon Ottley , and Anthony James. Sisters Mearl Blondell and Betty James. Loads of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She also had lots of friends in New York and she was a surrogate mother to many children who she helped raise in NY. The family would like to thank all of the brothers and sisters of her congregation for the unending love that you have shown Gloria in her NY congregation and throughout her years here in Florida. A special thank you to the nursing and medical staff of Trustbridge Hospice for the superb job provided to Gloria in her final days.
