Glenn Alvin Bennett "Al" , age 89 of Wellington, Fl entered into Heaven on June 15, 2023. He was born in La Grange, GA. and spent his early years there through high school. He then moved to Key West, Florida in the early 60's. In Key West he is remembered for being a great baseball coach for the Key West Little League Baseball Team and won the State Championship in 1970. His successful career in banking started in Key West , then moved to Fort Lauderdale for better opportunities. Moved to Wellington in 1996. Spending time with family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always eager and ready to help friends, neighbors and local businesses. Actively involved in Village of Wellington, community politics and senior initiatives through WellingtonCares. He was a faithful man who was active in the church community. He coached Upward Basketball. He was active on the Finance Committee, and also Led the St. Peter's Harvest Festival & BBQ. In addition, Al was known as "The Donut Man" which encouraged fellowship between services, and loved greeting the people. Hospitality was his spiritual gift. He thoroughly enjoyed serving at church and in the community. His joy came from being engaged with people and connecting people together. In the last couple weeks of his life, as his health began to fail, one of his regrets was that he was not able to continue to help other people. He always wanted to be useful and productive and make a difference in the lives of others. He was a sports fan of the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins, and Florida State football. In addition, he was an excellent Kite Builder. He enjoyed playing tennis with friends and with his daughter even in his mid 70s. Al is preceded in death by his parents Edward Myrlen Bennett & Eunice Augusta Reason. Brothers, Charles Bennett and Thomas Bennett. He is survived by spouse, Billie E. Bennett and Children, Stephen (Sue), Karen & Monica (Damon).
