George Antonio Rodriguez

George Antonio Rodriguez died peacefully on August 20, 2013 in the hospice unit at Bethesda Hospital. He was born in Puerto Rico, March 29, 1923, raised in New York City, lived in Washington Township, New Jersey and moved to Delray Beach, Florida where he resided for the last 26 years. He leaves behind his adored wife of 70 years, Esther, and his beloved children, daughter Janice and her partner William, his son George Jr. and daughter-in- law Judith, his daughter Kathy and his granddaughter Dana and her husband Jeffrey. He is also survived by his sister Gladys Velez, her husband Tony, his nephews Tony Jr., Bill, Jim and their wives, partners, children and grandchildren. George was a devoted family man with a joy for life and a wonderful sense of humor. He loved music- listening to it, singing it and dancing to it and imparted that love of music to his wife and children. He was in the US Army during World War II, participated in the D-Day invasion in Normandy and was an antiaircraft gunner. He was proud of his service to his country. He will be remembered as a kind and loving man who took such good care of his family, especially his wife Esther. He was a remarkable man. He will be deeply missed.
