Gary Edward Bykowicz, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and proud great‑grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, surrounded by his beloved wife Kathy and their children.
Born in Buffalo, New York, Gary grew up with a natural curiosity for how things worked. That curiosity became a lifelong career; he was a skilled engineer whose talent for repairing and improving anything that needed fixing earned him the admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Whether at work, at home, or out on a fishing trip, Gary’s steady hands and calm demeanor were a source of confidence for everyone who knew him.
When he wasn’t in the workshop, Gary could be found at the Boynton Beach Inlet, rod in hand, savoring the peace of fishing and the great outdoors with his grandchildren. Those quiet moments reflected his deeper love for nature and the simple joys of life.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife Kathy of 56 years, partner in all of life’s adventures. His loving Children: Gary (married to Nancy) Barbara (married to Kerry) predeceased by Audra (Gary). Cherished Grandchildren: Jack, Kerry, Kody, Kassy, Caitlyn, Jeremy, Sarah, and Kathleen. Great‑grandchildren: Everly-Audra, Hudson, Baby Jack, Riley, Charlotte, and the newest grandson to arrive in August 2026.
Gary’s legacy lives on through the knowledge he shared with his children, the things he repaired, the stories he shared on the dock, and the love he poured into his family. He taught his children the value of hard work, the importance of patience, and the joy of a well‑fished yellow pike.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held April 1, 2026, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Parkway, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411.
