Frederick Forrest Hawkins III (Fritz) of Yahala, Florida died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 8:15 p.m. Fritz is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia M. Hawkins, his sister, Nanell Lough (David), brother-in-law, Bill Mead, nephews Shawn Demarest (Angela), Andrew Demarest (Christine), Shawn Mead (Emily), and Jordan Mead (Laurin), and nieces, Danielle Demarest (Jude Cooper), and Megan Lough. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Forrest Hawkins II and Mary Emma Farrington. Fritz was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 26, 1952. He was raised in Coldwater, Michigan, and spent much of his childhood on Lake Lavine boating and waterskiing. Fritz attended the University of Miami, where he met his two best friends, Michael Linet and John Pisani. Fritz studied architecture and was the president of his fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha. During that time, Fritz met his wife, Cindy, and they were married in September 1979. Fritz was a lifelong Hurricane fan, and he enjoyed watching and attending Hurricane football games with his friends and family. He also loved gardening and being on or near the water. After college, Fritz started his real estate career at Century 21 and over the years, Fritz worked for most of the large real estate firms in Miami, before retiring from the Keyes Real Estate Company and moving to Yalaha, Florida. Fritz had an outgoing and gregarious personality. His smile could light up a room. Everyone was welcome at his house where he would greet you with warmth and a cocktail. Fritz will be honored at a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Donations can be made in Fritz's honor to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at https://www.lbda.org/donate/.
