Frederick Charles Wartberg was born December 11th, 1941, in Long Island, NY, where he grew up. He died peacefully along side his wife Jennifer and his daughter Jessica at Palm's West hospital in Loxahatchee, FL, on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, just 4 days before his 84th birthday. He was 83 years old. As a child, Fred loved playing in the woods behind his house, climbing trees and building forts. Fred joined the Navy when he was 17 years old, and worked as a Boatswain's Mate. He traveled the world. He fought in the Vietnam war. After that, he received his associate degree and received many additional college credits. Frederick moved around the US from NY, to Death Valley, California, to Naples, FL, to West Palm Beach, FL, to Loxahatchee, FL. He worked many jobs in his lifetime including a fire fighter, bartender, painter, clammer, park ranger, and most notably, deputy sheriff for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office for 33 years. Even after retiring, he worked as a civilian for PBSO creating forensic art and working on cold cases. He loved his toys: motorcycles, boats, trucks, canoes/kayaks, trailers, composite bows, guns, rifles, you name it. Frederick was a great painter and drawer. He enjoyed sports such as football and golf. He loved animals. He worked with horses in the police unit, and he even had a pet crow when he was a young boy. He loved his family: his parents, his siblings- especially his sister Carol, she was his favorite, his wife Jennifer, his daughter Jessica, his son Erik, who passed away last year, his grandchildren, his cousins, his nieces and nephews, and his friends. He loved everyone in a big way. He was an extremely giving and generous man. He was the life of the party. He enjoyed joking with his friends and family. Frederick will be very missed.
