Born on March 6, 1952 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Freddie and Ivy Nona Scott of Panama City, Florida. Frederick grew up mostly in Bay County, Florida. He joined the US Army at the age of 17 and attended boot camp in Ft Jackson, South Carolina and trained to be an Armored vehicle crewman. He went to Vietnam in 1969-1970 and fought as an Infantryman with the 23rd “Americal” Infantry Division and was awarded a Vietnam Service medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars. After his service in Vietnam he continued his career in the Active Duty Army. Met and married his wife in Ft Meade, Maryland in 1972. In 1975 he was discharged and worked small jobs and attended Gulf Coast Community College and got an Associate’s in Science Degree in Criminology, worked as “The Best” Cook on the Davis Queen Fishing Fleet on the fishing boat “Florida Queen” out of Panama City, Florida. He became full time in the Florida Army National Guard and relocated to West Palm Beach in 1985. In 1996 his retiring role was as the Full-time Training NCO and Platoon Seargent for Bravo Company 1st battalion, 124th Infantry division, 53rd Infantry Brigade and gained the Rank of SFC/E-7. He was a “Very Proud” Senior Non Commissioned Officer, and loved his role as a soldier, a leader and a mentor to many soldiers within his charge. His career awards included Army Commendation Medal, Two Army Achievement Medals, Four Army Good Conduct Medals, Three Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, Two National Defense Service Medals, Army (Retired) Lapel Button, along with a host of other ribbons. After his retirement he worked for the state of Florida, in the WIC Department, and enjoyed full retirement. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend to many. He enjoyed offshore and bank fishing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed working in his small garden growing vegetables, working on many small projects around his home to stay busy. There was not a challenge he would turn down. He loved all of his animals, and spoiled them like children.
Frederick is preceded in death by his Father, Freddie and Mother Ivy Nona of Panama City, Fl, his son in law, Tony and his daughter in law CindyAnn. He is Survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years, Regina (Jeanie) of West Palm Beach, his Daughter Cathy of Tallahassee, his son Michael of Port St Lucie, and his son Joshua and wife Shannon of Wellington, his brothers Eugene and wife Sharon of Chipley, Florida, Raymond and wife Kim of Panama City, Florida, Grandkids Lenny, Avery, Stephanie, Ashley, Nicole, Shane, Austin, Alexandria, Zachery, Ethan, Liz, and Jennifer. 14 Great Grandkids, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Frederick will be missed, remembered, and Loved by the many people that he touched within his time with us. We ask that everyone leave a memory in the Guestbook and even pictures would be welcome.
