Frederick Bloomfield beloved father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, at the age of 87. Affectionately known as Fred, he was born in Kingston Jamaica and emigrated to the United States in the early 1970s. Fred worked as a welder and specialized in arc welding. He showed exceptional technical skills as well as good leadership abilities and was quickly advanced to top leadership positions at companies both in Jamaica and the United States. Fred loved life. He was constantly looking for fun and exciting new things to do. When he retired Fred kept himself active and busy. He could either be found outside tinkering around his yard fixing things or he was in his garden planting some of his favorite fruits and vegetables such as calaloo, green bananas, tomatoes, peppers, pineapples and looking forward to eating them when they were ready. If his fruits and vegetables survived an attack by the iguanas or other creatures, he would consider it a successful growing season. Fred was a free spirit and the ultimate optimist. He was rarely ever "down in the dumps ". He would always say "you just have to grin and bear it". He was also a fun Dad and wonderful with kids. Fred was the consummate great guy. He was deeply loved and cherished by his daughter Sharon Jones, his son Chet Bloomfield, his son Phil Bloomfield (deceased) and their spouses Robert Jones, Mitzy Bloomfield and Teri Bloomfield (deceased) as well as his numerous grandchildren, his extended family and all his friends. Fred will be remembered for his upbeat yet laid-back personality, his love of life, people, nature and animals. May we take Fred's light, enthusiasm for life and optimism to build a better world. Fred's was a life well lived and he will be missed by those who loved and cherished him.
