Frank Papuzza, AKA Frankie Maro, passed away Friday, April 17, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Riviera Beach, Florida. Born in the Bronx, New York, son of the late Joseph & Grace Papuzza, known best as a guitarist and vocalist both in New York and West Palm Beach. Frank attended New York schools and joined the US Coast Guard in 1943, serving in South Pacific during WWII, he was a member of the VFW Post #2007 in West Palm and a former member of the musicians union in New York. He leaves a son, Francis Papuzza of East Meadow, NY and a daughter, Maureen Warrick of East Northport, NY. One sister, Eda LoVerso of Wellington, FL. His late sister, Mary Mendez of Riverhead, NY predeceased him in February 2009. Frank also leaves a granddaughter Kimberly O?Hara of Melville, NY and 2 great grandchildren, James and Kelly O?Hara. Four nephews, Frank & Joseph LoVerso both of Wellington, Paul & Michael Mendez of NY, a niece Lisa Jacobs of NY. One predeceased niece, Grace Mancuso, formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8, Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach, with a wake service beginning at 7:30 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 23, 2009 at St. Therese de Lisieux Catholic Church with burial following at Our Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery.
