April 22, 1952 — January 16, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank (Sandy) Gannett McAdam, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Sandy passed away peacefully at his home on January 16, 2024, at age 71. He was born on April 22, 1952 in Greenwich CT to Charles V. McAdam and Sally G. McAdam. Sandy was a long time resident of Wellington, FL and Portsmouth, NH. Sandy graduated from Andover Academy and then went on to Clarkson University, where he thrived playing hockey at all levels. His passion for hockey made him a leader, whether he was coaching or playing. He went on to play professionally in Europe and was known for his skill and dedication. He stayed involved in the sport by coaching and mentoring young players and his contributions to the hockey community will always be remembered. Sandy then continued his education and received an MBA from UConn. He was an extremely successful businessman and entrepreneur in the financial world, with a focus on the stock market. He made many lucrative business trades and transactions for his clients, earning their trust and respect. He had a need for speed, whether it was in the game called life, on the ice, on his bike, driving a car, or flying a plane. He lived life fully and passionately and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Sandy's strength, determination, and confidence were admired by everyone who knew him. He never knew the word "lose," and his infectious determination for success inspired those around him. He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Farnsworth) McAdam; son, Brad McAdam of Stuart, Florida, granddaughter, Sarah McAdam of Stuart Florida, and a brother, Tim McAdam, and his wife Alison of Scottsdale, AZ as well as extended family. Services for Sandy will be private, and, in lieu of flowers, any donations should be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Brenda F. McAdam Fund for bile duct cancer research, at 10 Brookline Place West. 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445. Sandy will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
