Francesco Pace Francesco Pace, of Wellington, passed away on Friday, March 20. A native of Calabria, Italy, he was the son of Panteleone and Maria Pace. Mr. Pace completed his education in Boston before settling in Los Angeles. He had lived in Wellington for the past 20 years. Maestro Pace?s life was devoted to opera. His proudest accomplishment was establishing a permanent opera company in Los Angeles, The Los Angeles Opera Company, and serving as its first general director. After retiring to Palm Beach County he actively supported Palm Beach Opera. Later he founded The Society for the Classical Arts and The South Florida Opera Company, opening his home for recitals and presenting operas in the Western Communities. He found enormous gratification in helping promising young singers advance their careers. Also a professional furniture maker, he operated Frank Pace Furniture Reproductions in Los Angeles. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. Friends may visit from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 at Palms West Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Wellington. Graveside services will be private.
