Frances Vetrano

Our beloved mother & grandmother, Frances Vetrano passed away on January 6, 2013. Frances was born in Bessemer, Al.. She was the daughter of Ignazio Sciortino & Rosalia Cusimani, both born in Sicily. Her parents raised five sons and three daughters. Later the entire family moved to East New York to open up a grocery store. It was there at fifteen, she met her true love and future husband John Vetrano. In 1943, they married, and shortly after the army sent John overseas. After the war they raised their four children in N. Valley Stream, New York; sons Anthony, Joseph, John and daughter Concetta (Maida). In 1979, Frances and John moved to Boca Raton, Florida. They were blessed with 11 grand- children and 2 great grandchildren. When her husband John passed away after 49 wonderful years together, Frances moved to Wellington, Florida. She moved in with her son Anthony and his wife Mary. Her family was everything to her. Even though she worked outside the home in her younger years, her family was her life! All her brothers,sisters, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces & nephews were important to her. The younger ones all referred to her as their "favorite Aunt". She is predeceased in death by her husband John, daughter Concetta, sister Jenny, brothers Frank, Louis, Joseph, Peter, and Anthony. She is survived by her sister Mary Costa of Coram, NY We love you and we will miss you always!!!
