Florence A. Fruh

June 16, 1920 — February 12, 2015

Florence A. Fruh, born June 16, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY died Thursday, February 12, 2015 at home with her family by her side. Florence is survived by her daughters Geri Cregle, Lorraine Lena and husband Anthony, Flo Cappadona and husband Jimmy, and was Nanny to 11 grandchildren and GG to 20 great grandchildren. She was married to George for 76 years before he died in 2012, and lost her only son George Jr.in 2007. Early in her marriage, she and George ran a successful ice cream parlor in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn. The Brooklyn girl moved to Jersey and had to learn to drive to get around in the country. She enjoyed crafting, making special gifts for her family, and loved to "cut a rug" with the best of them. Since George was an avid hunter and fisherman, she became a great cook and her family always said "she could get a good gravy out of anything." Florence had different jobs throughout the years as her family grew up but caring for her home and family were always her priority. She spent her happiest years living on the water at the Jersey Shore. Having a house full of family and friends visiting always made her smile. For the last 3 years, she lived independently at her home in Royal Palm Beach, FL. Florence put all her love and time into her family which gave her the most joy. She will be remembered as a kind, caring woman who always put others first, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. If inclined, in lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation at 5300 East Avenue, WPB, FL 33407-2387 would be welcomed.
