Fernando Dorado

Fernando was born in Ipiales , Colombia in 1964. His parents were Aquiles and Teresa and his siblings Armando, Mery, Gloria, Maria Elena, Marco, Ana and Luis. He was the youngest of eight. After graduating from Colegio Nacional Sucre he left for Bogota in search of adventure. In Bogota , Fernando worked his way through school and got a teaching degree from Universidad Minuto de Dios in 1997 and later on his Master's degree in education from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2003. During his 20 years in Bogota, Fernando shared his knowledge in Information Technology in prestigious bilingual schools of middle schools and high schools. Fernando met and married his wife Carol in 1995 and together they built a strong foundation for their family of four, with Luigi and Mateo. He was a loving and devoted family man, excellent teacher and loyal friend but above and beyond that he was a passionate self-taught musician. His love of Andean Folklore and talent to interpret the pan flute and other wind instruments took him to the stage hundreds of times. The tropical rhythms of the Caribbean flowed through his veins and were expressed in his Latin percussion instruments. In 2004 the Dorado family moved to West Palm Beach , where they currently reside. Fernando worked with the Palm Beach School District for over 10 years providing IT support at several schools lastly at H& L Johnson Elementary in Royal Palm Beach. He loved the world of education, he loved his computers and his students. Fernando was everyone's best friend, he was funny, the life of the party. He will be greatly missed by all.
