Felisa Chua Tan

Felisa Chua Tan of West Palm Beach, Florida, originally from Manila, Philippines, was born on June 7, 1935 to Chinese parents, the late Sy Chi Yu and Tan Kim Sio of Santa Cruz, Marinduque, Philippines. She had resided in the past in San Jose, California and Jacksonville, Florida. She went home to be with the Lord at the age of 88 on March 20, 2024 at Wellington Regional Hospital in Wellington, Florida. She was a great mother, full of love and compassion, always thinking of her children and grandchildren, of their wellbeing and safety. With 8 children, she devoted her time as a full-time mother and housewife, maintaining a home full of home cooked meals, and teaching her children through the years of what it takes to be a good person, a good daughter/son and along the way taking each training opportunity to drench them with good ole Asian teachings and traditions. She was 48 years old when her husband passed away in 1983 and was left with 8 children. She carried the burden of sending all her kids through college and successfully accomplished this goal. She weathered another storm of life when she lost her eldest 37-year-old daughter, Lilibeth, in 1996 to cancer. These valuable trainings in life experiences and sacrifices made for her children proved to be an example to us of her fortitude, resilience, and strength of character. She was a fantastic mother, a true role model; and because of who she was, her children and grandchildren are here today. Her family are forever grateful to have such blessings and love from a dear mother. Felisa was predeceased by her husband, Basilio Donato Tan. She was the cherished mother of Rosemarie Tan, Cristina Tan Mallory (husband, Michael), Jimmy Franklin Tan (wife, Joy), Gloria Tan Braddock (husband, Brian), John Ferdinand Tan, Jorge Frederick Tan (wife, Joann) and Donnahfe Tan Natividad (husband, Vic Elijah). She is the proud grandmother of Michelle Rose Lim Fong (husband, Nicholas), Ashleigh Nicole Tan Braddock King (husband, Brett), Christiene Joy Lim Tan, Katherine Rochelle Tan Lim, Franklin Jerald Lim Tan (wife, Alexa), Lauren Elizabeth Tan Braddock, Brian John Braddock Jr, Victor Daniel Tan Natividad, Alana Joan Tan Braddock, Tyler James Tan Natividad, Jeremiah Jorannson Yao Tan, Fredrich Jefferson Lim Tan and Charlene Joyce Lim Tan (deceased). Her children will hold a memorial service, 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in remembrance of their "Mom" with all their friends and family.
