Faith Angela Ho Sang

Faith Angela Ho Sang was born on October 8th, 1959, to Myrtle Ruby Lawrence and Gladston Skelton in Kingston, Jamaica. Faith attended Central Branch Primary School and Arden High School. She then moved to the US at the age of 15, starting a new chapter of her life.

She relocated to Chicago, IL, and graduated from Lakeview HS at the age of 16. She then attended DePaul University, but after a year, decided to enroll in the armed services to pursue accounting. However, life had other plans for Faith. A short illness thwarted her enlistment, and she turned her focus to begin her career in telecommunications, eventually transitioning to insurance. In 1984, Faith married her lifelong partner and love, Derrick. Her family was completed by her daughters, Lia & Tanya, and her son, Andre. During the next 41 years of marriage, she proved herself to be a loving & passionate wife, mother & friend.

In her spare time, she loved to dance, read, sew, crochet, cook, and entertain friends and family. Known for her feisty and protective personality, people were drawn to her inner fire. Her home was considered a safe gathering place for family, friends, and the neighborhood kids.

Faith was a brilliant person. She was able to pass any test, speak to any audience, and master any skill. She loved to experience life and have a good time. Often considered the life of the party, a good time was guaranteed to be had if she was there. Conversely, it was known to not cross her or her loved ones because the same fire that drew people in could burn you if she felt threatened or wronged.

In addition to her loving and devoted husband, Derrick Michael Ho Sang, she is survived by her brother, Paul Anthony Skelton, and other siblings; her children Mecalia Jeanne Paul (Allen), Natanya Cherie Ho Sang, and Derrick Andre Ho Sang (Lindsay); her grandchildren, Christopher James-Mason Paul, Marcus Anthony Paul (Vanessa), Naomi Kyla Medrano (Luis), Andre Michael Ho Sang, Cameron Michael Ho Sang, in addition to many other relatives and friends.

She may be gone but will never be forgotten
