Evelyn Rose Barry

Evelyn Rose Barry, age 89, passed away January 31, 2022, in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was born December 28, 1932, in Monmouth, Illinois to the late John J. & Helen E. (Cavanaugh) Barry. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Apostle Catholic Church in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. She is survived by her two nephews, John Arthur (Joanne), of Royal Palm Beach, Mark (Kate Schilling), of Conifer, CO and one niece, Dalinda, of Wellington, FL one great niece, Savannah and one great nephew, Matthew, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rita, brother John and sister-in-law Rosie (Damewood) Barry. Evelyn was born and raised in the Monmouth, IL area and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1950. She would later become the Secretary at Monmouth High retiring in 1990 to move to Florida. She loved to travel and took both her nephews and niece individually to California. She traveled to Ireland, Rome and in 2019 finally stepped foot in Maine, meaning she had been to all 50 states. At the time of her death, she still owned her first car, a red 1949 Crosley Hot Shot. In her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at church, crafts and spending time with family and friends. A visitation service will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 pm on Friday, February, 4, 2022, at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach. Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in Royal Palm Beach, FL.
