Mr. Francois was born on December 22, 1933 in Corail, Haiti to parents Fedelice and Jerome Francois. He attended elementary school in Jeremie, and later dropped out school to work after losing both parents. He married Rosalie in December 22, 1964 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, then due to political turbulence in the country, relocated to the Bahamas in 1969 while Rosalie remained in Haiti with the children. She joined him in the Bahamas in 1975, and continued to work together, and saved which eventually led to the children joining them in 1980. During his time in the Bahamas, he worked as a landscaper, dishwasher, banquet hall attendant etc. In 1990, he immigrated to the United States, and worked at St. Mary's Hospital and the School District of Palm Beach County. He was a member of First Haitian Church of God and served as Sunday School Secretary, Usher, and a member of the men's group. He retired in 2009, and dedicated his remaining time to caring for his grandchildren, spending time with his family and friends, and serving in the church. Etienne Jerome Francois died in Sunrise Health Center on September 4, 2019, due to a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was 85 years old. Mr. Francois was a patient and supportive father, and husband with a passion for basketball and dancing. He enjoyed sharing stories about his childhood, politics, and tales of long-time friendships. Inspiring a love of life, and dedication in others was a life-long goal. Mr. Francois is survived by his wife Rosalie, his daughters Betie, Nuncia, Elsie, Merline, and Rachelle. His sons, Frantz, and Ralph. Sixteen grandchildren, Rebecca, Sean Jr., Alexandria, Danielle, Trent Jordan, Brianna, Camielle, Matthew, Naythan, Leyah, Terrell, Darlene, Rolandy, Betina, Romana, John Rolph; two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Nacica. Sons-in- laws, Bobbie, Kens, Sean Sr. Jacques, and daughter-in-law, Josette, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Francois lived a simple life, but one filled with joy. He adored his wife Rosalie, and leaves a legacy of commitment to God, strong work ethics, and a giving spirit. A memorial will take place on September 14th at 12:00 p.m. at Palm Beach Memorial Gardens in Lantana. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ms. Francois' life.
