Estill Issac Powell, age 85 passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday January 2, 2008. Estill was born on April 18, 1922 in Estill County Kentucky. He was the son of Richard and Amanda Powell and brother to Edith, Irene, Bertha, Christine, & Dorothy. His legacy is proudly carried in the hearts of his numerous nieces and nephews as well as a great grandson, five grandchildren and 4 children, Richard (& wife Cynthia), James, Gerald, Helen (& husband John) and the mother of his children, Joan. Estill was a veteran of the US Army, a combat engineer participating in campaigns of Northern France ( D. Day ),The Ardennes Forest, Central Europe and the Rhine Lands. He became a Greyhound Bus Driver after the war for the next 42 years. Many will also remember him as the gentle, smiling greeter as they entered the Wal-Mart in Royal Palm Beach, Fl. where he worked for the remaining 17 years of his life. Papa, as he was called by those who knew him, lived every day of his life to help, encourage, and enrich every soul he was around. Papa gave his entire life as a selfless gift to everyone. He will be truly missed by all whose life he touched. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2008 from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at the Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, Fl., Estills final resting place will be Silver Creek Cemetery, Madison, KY.
