Esther Awilda Gilbes Lemus

August 26, 1935 — July 7, 2023

Our beloved Mom, Esther Awilda Gilbes Lemus, is survived by a blended family with her late husband, Tomas Lemus, which includes 9 Children, 18 Grandchildren, and 14 Great-Grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Sandy Gilbes Rosa of Brooks, GA, Cyndi Gilbes Randolph of Fayetteville, GA, Gilbert Gilbes of West Palm Beach, FL, and Robert Gilbes of Miami Gardens, FL. Esther was born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico on August 26, 1935. She moved from Puerto Rico to New York City at the young age of 17 and then to South Florida with her first husband, Eusebio Gilbes, and their children in the mid-1960's, where she resided for the next 33 years. She proudly worked for the Dade County School Board in the Food Services Department, where through hard work, she achieved the position of Manager. While working her way up the ladder, she earned college credits and continued improving her status within the school system. Upon her retirement at the age of 62, she moved to West Palm Beach with her husband, Tomas, and they settled there for the next 25 years. She loved her family, enjoyed music and dancing, dressing to the nines, watching her novelas and shows, listening to her new friend "Alexa," sitting on her sun porch, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a treasure to many and a blessing to everyone whose life she touched. She was an angel here on Earth and is now an angel in Heaven. She was so very loved and will be missed by us all. We love you, Mami. You are forever in our hearts.
