Esther Elizabeth Elsner, (Liz) age 91 of Morganton, North Carolina passed away March 1, 2023, at VITAS Hospice in Delray Beach, Florida. Liz was born on March 19, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to George and Mina Kilgus. Her family relocated to Sebewaing in 1933 to start a tailoring and dry-cleaning business. Liz enjoyed time, gardening, sewing, traveling, and anytime she could spend near a body of water, loving her walks on the beach. She worked for the State of Michigan as a radio dispatcher, had two sewing businesses: the Sailors' Tailor and Upper Creek Crafts. Liz was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, Michigan, St Paul's Lutheran Church in Imlay City, Michigan and Calvary Lutheran Church in Morganton, North Carolina. Liz and Fred were blessed with four children Becky (George) Banks of Morganton, North Carolina Steve (Mona) Gall of Eckerman, Michigan, Sue (Roger) Clark of Cheboygan, Michigan, and Dean Gall (1958 to 2013). She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Chris Banks, Katie (Frankie) D'Annunzio, Angela (Troy) Roznowski , Steve (Corey) Gall, Terry (Jill) Rogers, Trevor (Abby) Rogers, Tracy (Erin) Rogers, and Chasidy Willhelm; twenty great grandchildren: Joey, Nikki, Luke, Emma, Logan, Tony, Steven, Whitney, Andrew, Henry, Penelope, Davis, Caroline, Paul, Haley, Wit, Lawson, Kyler, Thomas and Tatum; two great great grandchildren: Colt and Knox. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. She was proceeded in death by her parents, George and Mina Kilgus; siblings: Bruce Kilgus, Gerhardt Kilgus and Erma Rummel; husbands: Fred Gall (1971) and Walter Elsner (2007); son Dean Gall (2013). A celebration of life service will be held at calvary Lutheran Church in Morganton, North Carolina on May 31, 2023, at 10:30 am. A second celebration will be held on July 1, 2023, at 12:30 pm in Cheboygan, Michigan.
