Ernest F. Businelli

Ernest Businelli, 86, passed away October 29, 2026.

Ernest was born on October 8, 1940, in New York, NY to Catarina Brun Businelli and Francesco Businelli.

He grew up in New York City and graduated from City College of New York, with a degree in Geology.

He then spent 2½ years serving in the Peace Corps in Ghana as a geologist.

Upon returning home he worked at Duramic Products for 22 years, then Tetley Tea, then Thermo Electric Wire and Cable.

In 1979 Ernest married Ann Gallagher Granito. They were married 5½ years before her passing in 1984. In 1988 Ernest married Marilyn Urban Stack.

He was a parishioner of St. Therese de Lisieux parish and member of the Knights of Columbus JFK Council # 2586 in Bogota, NJ. He was a member of the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and their New Jersey and South Florida chapters.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Marilyn; Ann's children Charles, Catherine Davis and Kenneth and nephews David Businelli and Steven Businelli; grandchildren, great grandchildren and cousins.

He was preceded in death by mother Catarina Businelli, father Francesco Businelli, wife Ann Businelli, daughter Ann Marie Granito and brother Leo Businelli.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
