Eric has a vast network of family and friends across the globe, including his sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and colleagues. Throughout his life, Eric valued his relationships with his family and friends. He was always there to lend an attentive ear, helping hand, or supportive shoulder. He had a passion for fairness and equality, which he focused on those with disabilities through his work as a teacher and educator. He loved the written word, was an avid reader, gifted writer, and published author. He continued to write poetry until January. Eric loved photography, chronicling his family's journeys throughout the decades. Growing up on a farm, Eric possessed a deep connection to the earth and growing things. Wherever life took him, he continued to use his gift for gardening, creating flourishing spaces abounding with fresh vegetables and delightful flowers. Eric was born on September 26, 1938, in Guyana, where he raised his young family and began his career as an educator. Eric left his position as an assistant principal and moved his family to Saskatchewan, where he furthered his education at the University of Saskatoon. Eric and Claudette purchased their first home in Queens, which became the family base for decades. After retiring as an assistant principal in Brooklyn, Eric relocated to West Palm Beach. When Eric and Claudette purchased their current home in 2020, he continued his lifelong love of gardening, creating a magical oasis of flowers, trees, and plants, a place where all were welcomed.
