Emilie Marsich was born September 13, 1934, 1934, to Louis Sansricq Fils and Lucia Souverain in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Later her mother, Lucia Souverain, moved back to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Emilie married Serge Jean Dupoux in 1962, moving to New York City shortly after. They were blessed with three children: Tania, Stephanie and Jean Serge Dupoux Jr. Emilie and Serve divorced in 1971. Emilie was extremely motivated and hardworking, despite the struggles and challenges she faced. As a single mother in a new county, through hard work, she became a certified nurses' aid, and then a Licensed Practical Nurse. While working as an LPN, she met William Marsich who encouraged her to further pursue becoming a Professional Nurse. Emile graduated from Harlem Hospital School of Nursing in 1975 and obtained her license as a Registered Nurse that same year. Later, in 1987, Emilie married William J Marsich. Emilie worked in various clinical settings during her nursing career for over 40 years and many 12-hour shifts to support her growing family. During the last 10 years. of her career, she worked as a charge nurse at Riker's Correctional Facility, New York City. Emilie retired from nursing, and relocated to Plantation, Florida in 1986. After retirement, Emilie and Bill traveled extensively for a couple of years. Their adventure to the Holy Land was one of her greatest spiritual experiences in her life. In 1999 her beloved husband and partner, Bill Marsich died. Bill was an exceptional and caring husband to Emile and a loving stepfather to her 3 children. In Florida, Emile obtained a certification as a licensed Massage Therapist and worked part-time as a nursing instructor. Emilie spent time engaging in her favorite hobbies and activities -- reading the bible, drawing, painting, enjoying opera, classical music, and the theatre. She had a passion for self-care through holistic nutrition and exercise. Emile was a special mother to her children and grandchildren. She had a compassionate spirit for others and was always willing to sacrifice her needs for the good of her children. She also had a loving, and special relationship with her daughter-in-law, Carole Dupoux. Emilie will always be remembered as a selfless mother who exemplified strength, hard work, unconditional love and always strived to do the right thing. She is survived by her three children: Tania Hayes-Dupoux, son-in-law, Terry Hayes, Stephanie Dupoux, Jean Serge Dupoux, Jr. and daughter-in-law Carol Dupoux. She also has 9 grandchildren: Sir Jarvis Stewart and wife Lauren Stewart, Sabrina Fayaz, Tatianna Fayaz, Andres L White, Lonnie A White and wife Alesia White, Timothy Dupoux, Rebecca Dupoux, Raquel Syrianna Jonel Hill, and Emile Dupoux. Emilie also has 2 great grandsons, Styles Stewart and Isaiah Nyles White. Emilie is also survived by her nieces Nancy Marsan, Martin Jerome and many nephews - Edward Jr., Daniel, David and Edy Marsan, in addition, her sister Lucienne Jerome and brother, Edward Jerome.
